The Gathering - quilt pattern
Level: Any level from beginner to advanced
(during the mystery quilt where 450+ members made the quilt, there were all skill levels and everyone did just fine! There was something for everyone - even the seasoned quilter.)
I designed this pattern for my 3rd online mystery quilt. What is a mystery quilt? It is a group you join and are given small portions of the pattern to complete on a set schedule. You do not know what the pattern is, or what you may be doing on the next step. Each step is a surprise and by the end, you have a fabulous quilt completed! I am trying to do a mystery quilt each year, if not twice a year online, to a closed group of members. Once the mystery is over, the pattern is then compiled and put together for purchase.
This pattern was a huge success due to a few options I gave for those who were a little leery of the piecing portions. In the end, there were a number of members who ended up making TWO quilts just so that they could see both options!
